Nathanials first night!

Nathanial spent his first night at home yesterday! Finally the house is finished - just need to get another set of curtains and to wash the ones already there.

Nathanial I think has the flu - he has a fever, a runny nose and is coughing a lot.
I didn't get a lot of sleep last night - Nathanial woke up every hour or so having screaming nightmares. I know for sure that he hasn't been watching anything inappropriate as the kids here hardly watch TV and if they do it is something like Veggie Tales or Curious George. So I conclude that its something that he has experienced in his past. Something obviously not very nice! He spent half the night laid on top of me and then I managed to creep out of his bed back into mine. I was absolutely freezing last night - even though I was wearing a sweatshirt - Nathanial's side seems to be a lot warmer. Lets hope that tonight we both get a better nights sleep.

I have yet to figure out the how the cooker works and the shower. When staying at my friends house I had to boil hot water on the stove fill up a basin and use a yoghurt pot to wash, one night I also had to wash by candlelight! The other day we had no power and water.

I'm going to go into town now to get Nathanial some cough medicine, to get some food and milk and water.

Enjoy the photos!

hi Isabelle - its so good to see the pix of Nathanial (runny nose included! - hope that's clearing up now) and of where you guys are living. trust the nightmares will cease with the growing security of being home with you - love the picture of him asleep on his mat, bottom in the air! hil

Congratulations! We are another family that adopted from Uganda. I don't mean to freak you out, and maybe you already thought of this, but those are all symptoms of malaria. You might want to make sure it is in fact the flu. Please don't take offense, having just got over malaria myself, and my little boy having while in Uganda...as a mama I worry. Blessings

Hi Melissa, thanks for the tip - I was going to take him today anyway.
No offence taken - I'm always happy to receive advice and tips!

Hi there Melissa - nothing to worry about just a viral infection - not malaria - he will soon be fine.

Yeah, I had been praying that it wasn't malaria. Thanks for the update!
